One day. One day was all it took to turn my life upside down. I'm nothing special, nothing extrodinary; just a regular girl trying to keep her head. My name is Acantha Woodrow. I am thirteen years old. I live in District Eleven. Mornings have always been the same; wake up at dawn, get dressed, and go straight into the grape orchards. Not today. Today is reaping day.
It was not yet morning when I slip out of bed, careful not to wake carter. I find my way to the back room of our small little house. The old floorboards creak when I kneel down.
